Why do my custom fields not show up when I send a test email or autoresponder?
Your test emails will only display the place holders for your custom fields as there is no contact list or contact linked to the test email for the application to draw the information from.

If you wish to see what your email will look like with your custom fields filled in, you can send to a small test list that has your email address on it and use Test Mode. This can be found next to the 'Send' link in your emails and it is called Test 1.

You can also hit 'Live Data' while in the View mode and scroll through how it will look if merged.

When you send, it will show up as a test email to yourself and show the custom fields merged in as well as the working unsubscribe link.
