| What does 'Subscriber Status' mean and can I change it? |
|
Every subscriber inside your mailing list has a status. When a new subscriber signs up on your web site through a web form, is added to a list or uploaded, they will be flagged as an Active subscriber to start. Once you begin mailing to your lists, subscriber statuses can change based on what happens during the campaign. There are three options: - Active: This is an active user that can be emailed to. - Bounced: This is a hard bounced email. After five soft bounces, an email will convert to a hard bounce. These addresses are not mailed to. - Unsubscribed: If a user unsubscribes, their status will immediately change. You can change this status/email address/custom field, especially useful if you're manually unsubscribing users. - In the upper left-hand corner, you'll see a Subscriber Status box. Enter in their email address and click 'Go'. - If the address is in the account, hover over Actions and click 'Edit'. - In the dropdown of Status, change accordingly. We do not recommend you change from 'Bounced' to 'Active' unless instructed by your support admin. Sending to previously bounced addresses can do damage to your sending reputation and cause your account to be suspended. |
