| What are snippets and how can I use them? |
|
Snippets are pieces of reusable HTML content that you
can insert into emails via a simple merge tag. These are convenient for
when you have to insert things like long legal text, About Us
paragraphs, etc. If you find yourself putting in the same block of
content in emails time after time, snippets will make email assembly
easier for you. Another example: If you want a custom header (think 'Can't see this online? Click here to view it.') or footer (which includes an opt-out link, CAN-SPAM information and your physical address), you can create a separate snippet of content, save it, and then drop a simple tag in your email at any time. The application will automatically merge that content snippet into your email for you. You could also use it with social networking tags. Let's say you'd like a standard "Visit us on Twitter/Facebook" link. With snippets, you can easily drop a simple tag in the email and direct your users to wherever you'd like. How To Create and Insert A Snippet - Under Advanced, select Snippets. Enter in the snippet name and create your content using the WYSIWYG editor. You can upload a file, import from a website or simply create in the editor. After you click Save and Exit, it's complete. You can later edit this snippet if you choose. Note that the snippet name you select will be your merge tag (ex. ##legalcode##). - When coding an email, simply insert your merge tag where you want that information to populate. Like any other merge tag, it will populate after you deploy so we recommend thorough testing to ensure the look and feel is what you desire. |
